Micro Project 6

Smear: 1.) to spread or daub
2.) to smudge or blur, as by rubbing

My word assigned for me was the word smear. I got really excited when I heard that this was my word because honestly it just sounds cool. Upon thinking about this project and trying to get ideas I found it was actually pretty difficult. First to think of an object I use pretty much daily and then incorporate smear into that object. I finally settled on a pen as my object. I was going to do something with makeup because I love it, but I don't really wear it every day. It hit me without thinking too hard how many times I use pens as my writing utensil and how I sometimes notice that the way I write causes the ink to sometimes smear on the page. It also leaves a nice smear mark on my pinky finger. This is an object that I used daily but don't really think about. How vital it has been to my education and other life activities! I thought that this was the best suited object for my project, thus why I chose it. I journal a lot so I decided to take a picture of me journaling. Next I wanted to show the smear that my hand naturally creates sometimes, depending on the type of pen, how fast I write and how tired I am. After that I wanted to showcase the smear image on my pinky knuckle. It sometimes can be a messy process which leaves more ink on other parts of the page and/or me if I am not careful. I also tried to blur the words so you can't read everything as a complete sentence since it's my thoughts in my journal. I thought the overall idea seemed to blend in well together..see what I did there ;) Maybe that wasn't too funny..close enough to smear.
